Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for øking av dynamikkområdet for originale bildedata som representerer et bilde, innbefattende anvendelse av en utvidelsesfunksjon for å generere fra de originale bildedataene utvidede data som har et dynamikkområde som er større enn for de originale bildedataene, og tilveiebringelse av en utvidelsesavbildning som innbefatter data som er indikative for en grad av luminans for områder tilordnet piksler i bildet. Fremgangsmåten kombinerer de originale bildedataene og de utvidede dataene i samsvar med utvidelsesavbildningen, for derved å få frem forbedrede bildedata. En anordning for bedring av dynamikkområdet til bildedata innbefatter en dynamikkområdeekspander som leverer utvidede data, en 15 luminansanalysator som leverer en utvidelsesavbildning, og en kombinator som kombinerer de originale og utvidede data i samsvar med en variabel vekting tilveiebrakt av utvidelsesavbildningene.
