Abstract
En fremgangsmåte og en anordning for detektering av undervannsobjekter innbefatter en langstrakt gruppe med ultralyd senderelementer montert i det vesentlige vertikalt og forovervendt på baugen til skipet fra hvilke det blir sendt en sekvens med ultralydbølgepulser, hvor hver puls har en frekvens og vertikal strålevinkel som er forskjellig fra frekvensen og den vertikale strålevinkelen til den forutgående pulsen i sekvensen, idet frekvensen er karakteristisk for den vertikale strålevinkelen, og den vertikale strålevinkelen blir styrt ved bruk av tidsforsinkelser mellom ulike senderelementer, og en langstrakt gruppe med ultralyd mottakerelementer montert i det vesentlige horisontalt på baugen til skipet med mottakerelementene forovervendt som mottar eventuelle ultralydbølger reflektert fra objekter foran skipet, idet utmatningene fra mottakerelementene blir styrt horisontalt ved bruk av tidsforsinkelser mellom ulike mottakerelementutmatninger, og for hver horisontale posisjon for strålen med utmatninger blir de utmatninger fra mottakerelementene, som har de tidsforsinkelser som er forbundet med den horisontale posisjonen til strålen med utmatninger, summert i en stråleformer.
