Abstract

 圧電または磁歪素子の残留振動の影響を排除し受信超音波波形とモデル波形との相関性を高め、超音波信号の反射波の影響を受けない位置検出方法およびシステムを提供すること。本発明の超音波伝播時間測定システムの送信部2において、送信タイミングを表すトリガー信号を含む電磁波信号と、該電磁波信号の送出と同時に自己相関性の高い擬似ランダム信号に基づいて超音波を変調することにより超音波駆動信号を生成し、超音波送信器104により該超音波駆動信号の周波数より高い周波数の超音波信号を送出する。受信部3において、前記電磁波信号と超音波信号を検出し、前記超音波駆動信号をモデル波形とし、検出された超音波信号と該モデル波形との間で相関値を算出し、算出された相関値の主ピーク値を検出し、前記電磁波信号の検出時点と該主ピーク値の検出時点とから超音波伝播時間を算出するデータ処理回路206を具備する(図1)。
