Abstract

Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en fremgangsmåte for separering og rensing som tillater oppnåelse av renset hydrokinon fra råblandinger hovedsakelig inneholdende hydrokinon i kombinasjon med svært små mengder av urenheter inkluderende resorcinol og pyrogallol. Fremgangsmåten i henhold til oppfinnelsen, som innebærer å starte fra et rå-hydrokinon inneholdende urenhetene, er kjennetegnet ved at den omfatter en topp-destillering som lar resorcinolen fjernes som destillasjons-topprodukt, og lar en råblanding hovedsakelig omfattende hydrokinon og de tunge urenheter fjernes ved kolonnebunnen, idet blandingen deretter utsettes for en bunn-destillering som lar pyrogallolen fjernes ved kolonnebunnen og lar hydrokinon i en renset form utvinnes ved kolonnetoppen.
