Nærmere bestemt tilveiebringes isoformfusjoner som omfatter en forløpersekvens for sekresjon, prosessering og intracellulær transport. Nukleinsyremolekyler som koder for fusjonene uttrykkes i en vertscelle, og den kodete og delvis eller fullstendig prosesserte CSR eller ligandisoformen dannes i celledyrkingsmediet.
