Abstract

Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av alkylenglykoldietere ved omsetning av en lineær eller sykhsk eter med et alkylenoksid i nærvær av en Lewissyre. Fremgangsmåten er kjennetegnet ved at Lewis-syren er en blanding av 1 vektdel HBF4 og/eller BF3 og 0,1 til 10 vektdeler av H2SO4, HNO3 og/eller H3PO4. Det nye katalysatorsystemet gjør det mulig å redusere uønskede biprodukter, så som foreksempel dioksan eller dimetyltrietylenglykol, og å øke mengden av verdifiille stoffer, så som dimetylglykol og dimetyldiglykol.
