En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av syntesegass (70), ved autotermisk, katalytisk reforming av en fødegasstrøm (55), omfattende hydrokarboner, fremskaffelse av partielt transformert gass (65) og syntesegass (70), hvor nevnte fødegasstrøm (55) omfattende hydrokarboner blir blandet med en del (66) av nevnte partielt transformerte gass (65), før den blir utsatt for nevnte autotermiske, katalytiske reforming, for således å oppnå en fortynning av konsentrasjonen av hydrokarbonet tilstede i den.
