Oppfinnelsen vedrører en komprimert blokk av trevirkeagglomerat, som inneholder partikler av trevirke og et hydraulisk bindemiddel, fremstilt ved en fremgangsmåte hvor en begynnelsesblanding som inneholder trevirkepartikler og et hydraulisk bindemiddel holdes under trykk under varigheten for herdingen av bindemiddelet. Oppfinnelsen vedrører dessuten en fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av blokken og anvendelse av denne, særlig som byggeelement for bygninger.
