Abstract
En kompakt katalytisk reaktor (20) for reformering som omfatter en reaktormodul (70) for å definere et mangfold av første og andre strømningskanaler anordnet alternerende, for føring av første og andre gasstrømmer, og en fjernbar gasspermeabel katalysatorstruktur (80) med et substrat f.eks. av metallfolie er tilveiebrakt i hver strømningskanal hvori en kjemisk reaksjon skal foregå. Reaktoren er for bruk med en første gasstrøm hvis trykk er over omgivelsestrykk og er ikke mindre enn det av den andre gasstrømmen. Reaktormodulen (70) kan være dannet av en stabel av plater (72, 74, 75). Modulen (70) er innelukket i en trykktank (90), idet trykket i trykktanken er anordnet til å være ved et trykk som hovedsakelig er det av den første gasstrømmen. Følgelig er ingen deler av modulen (70) under spenning. Dette forenkler utformingen av reaktormodulen, og øker andelen av dens volum som okkuperes av katalysatoren.
