Abstract

En sender deler en brukerdatastrøm i flere delstrømmer. Senderen velger så adaptivt en modulasjonsplan og en kodingsrate for hver av delstrømmene basert på de nåværende kanaltilstander. Deretter moduleres og kodes flere delbærere med de nevnte delstrømdata i henhold til de valgte modulasjonsplaner og kodingsrater. De modulerte delbæreme blir hver allokert til én eller flere senderantenner for utsendelse. Fornt for utsendelse justeres en sendereffekt for hver av delbæreme på grunnlag av kanaltilstandene. Den adaptive modulasjons- og kodingsfunksjonen, delbærerallokeringsfimksjonen og effektstyringsfimksjonen styres samlet for å optimalisere gjermomstrønming, signalkvalitet og systemeffektivitet.
