Abstract
Et system for måling av et glukosenivå i en blodprøve innbefatter en teststrimmel og en måler. Teststrimmelen har et prøvekammer eller en annen testesone, en arbeidselektrode, en motelektrode, fyllin gsdetekteringselektroder og en auto-på-leder. I testesonen er det anordnet et reagenslag. Auto-på-lederen medfører at måleren "vekkes" og kan gjennomføre en teststrimmelsekvens når teststrimmelen er innført i måleren. Måleren bruker arbeids- og motelektrodene for i utgangspunktet å detektere blodprøven i prøvekammeret, og benytter fyllingsdetekteringselektrodene for å sjekke at blodprøven har blandet seg med reagenslaget. Måleren legger en prøvespenning mellom arbeids- og motelektrodene og måler den resulterende strøm. Måleren beregner glukosenivået basert på den målte strømmen og på kalibreringsdata som ligger i en hukommelse og er tilført fra en uttakbar datalagringsinnretning som er tilordnet teststrimmelen.
