Abstract

Registrerbare DVD+R- og DVD+R/W-optiske skiver med to (eller flere) informasjonslag er utviklet for å doble datalagringskapasiteten og videoregistreringstid. En fremgangsmåte og anordning blir foreslått for å gjøre dobbeltlag-DVD-plateregistreringer kompatibel med dobbeltlag-DVD-ROM-standarden. Registrering av dataene på en DVD-ROM kompatibel måte på dobbeltlag-DVD+R- eller DVD+R/W-platen blir tilveiebrakt ved forskyvning av midtsonearealet mot den indre radien til en skive på en slik måte at datasonene har hovedsakelig lik størrelse og begge arealer er overliggende.
