Description

Herdbart, trykkfølsomt klebemiddel.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrorer herdbare, trykkfolsomme klebemidler.
Ifolge foreliggende oppfinnelse er det således tilveiebragt et klebemiddel som omfatter en vulkaniserbar elastomer, en varmeherdende, oljeopploselig fenolharpiks, en klebende harpiks, valgt fra gruppen polyterpenharpikser, kumaron/inden-harpikser og naturharpiks og dennes derivater, samt et metall-alkoksyd som herdningsakselerator, kjennetegnet ved at det som metall-alkoksyd inneholder forbindelsen
hvor R betegner en alkylgruppe med 1-6, fortrinnsvis 1-4 karbon-atomer, og fortrinnsvis aluminium-isopropoksyd.
Betegnelsen vulkaniserbare elastomerer omfatter naturgummi, butadien/styren-sampolymerisater og andre butadien-sampolymerisater, polyisopren, polykloropren og blandinger av disse.
De varmeherdende olje-opploselige fenolharpiksene som benyttes, er de som kan reagere med de benyttede elastomerene. Fenol/ formaldehyd-harpikser blir foretrukket. Disse harpiksene anvendes i vanlige mengder, dvs. fra 5 til 50 vektdeler, til 100 vektdeler av elastomeren.
Et foretrukket alkoksyd er som nevnt aluminiumisopropoksyd, og aluminiumalkoksydet virker som akselerator for den kryssbindende reaksjonen mellom den herdbare elastomeren og fenolharpiksen, den så-kalte herding. Det kan anvendes i mengder i området 1 til 20 vektdeler per 100 vektdeler elastomerer.
De klebende harpikser som kan benyttes, er som nevnt polyterpenharpikser, kumaron/inden-harpikser og naturharpiks og dens derivater. Den klebende harpiks tilsettes i fastsatte mengder, nemlig 20 til l80 vektdeler til 100 vektdeler av elastomeren. Andre stoffer som kan inkorporeres, er fyllstoffer, myknere, pigmenter og anti-oksyderingsmidler. Oppfinnelsen vedrorer naturligvis også en trykk-folsom struktur som f.eks. et klebebånd, bestående av en bærer med et klebemiddel ifSlge oppfinnelsen anbragt på minst en side.
Oppfinnelsen vil videre bli illustrert i de folgende eksem-pler.
Eksempel 1
Et klebemiddel med folgende sammensetning ble laget:
Dette klebemiddel ble påfort på et tynt bånd av myknet PVCT og båndrullen kunne fremdeles brukes etter 6 uker i en ovn ved 90°C. Et bånd med klebemiddel uten fenol/formaldehyd-harpiks og akselerator sviktet etter 1 uke.
Et bånd, 2.5 cm i firkant, med det ovenfor nevnte klebemiddel ble anbragt på en vertikal, rustfri stålplate og utsatt for en skjærkraft-adhesjonsprove. Denne prQven gir et mål for båndets evne til å forbli festet og motstå de vanlig forekommende skjærkrefter som enten skyldes ytre belastning eller sammentrekning av selve båndet, f.eks. ved krymping. Resultatene viser:
Eksempel 2
For å bestemme herdningshastigheten med forskjellige aksele-ratorer ble kryssbundede elastomerer blandet med en para-substituert oljeopplSselig fenol/formaldehyd-harpiks og den akselerator som skulle undersokes, i et kaldt gummivalseverk. Prover av blandingen ble ut-tatt og undersokt i et "Mooney Viscometer" (beskrevet i British Standard 1763, del 3) idet den store rotoren ble benyttet. Tempera-turen var 120°C. Logaritmen til viskositeten ble plottet mot tid for hver akselerator. Fra disse data ble de folgende parametere bestemt.

Dette var tiden (minutter) tatt fra begynnelsen av forsoket til en påviselig okning i viskositet.
II 30- Mooney- tid
Dette var tiden (minutter), regnet fra begynnelsen av forsoket, som skulle til for å nå en viskositet 30 enheter hoyere enn den laveste verdien som var notert i lopet av forsoket.
Resultatene er gitt under. Sammensetningen var i alle for-søkene:
Det fremgår av tabellen at titanbutoksyd er en mer aktiv herdningsakselerator enn aluminiumforbindelsene. Anvendelsen av titanforbindelser av denne type for det foreliggende formål er kjent fra britisk patentskrift nr. 96O 509- Imidlertid har de den ulempe at de gir en rodaktig farve til klebemidlet, mens aluminiumforbindelsene ikke gir farving og således er mer anvendelige.
Selv om klebemidlene herdner hurtig ved oppvarming, herdner de langsomt under normal lagring. De kan derfor lagres i uherdet til-stand og likevel herdes hurtig ved oppvarming når dette onskes. Ved herdingen omdannes de til varmestabile og opplosningsmiddelstabile produkter.

  1. Herdbart, trykkfolsomt klebemiddel, omfattende en vulkaniserbar elastomer, en varmeherdende, oljeopploselig fenolharpiks, en klebende harpiks, valgt fra gruppen polyterpenharpikser, kumaron/inden-harpikser og naturharpiks og dennes derivater, samt et metallalkoksyd som herdningsakselerator, karakterisert ved at det som metallalkoksyd inneholder forbindelsen:
    hvor R betegner en alkylgruppe med 1-6, fortrinnsvis 1-4 karbon-atomer, og fortrinnsvis aluminium-isopropoksyd.
