Description
Pelletteringsapparat for fuktig, pulverformet materiale.
Oppfinnelsen angår pellettering av
fuktig, pulverformet materiale, som malmer o. 1., og mer spesielt apparatur for kule-fremstilling eller pellettering av konsentrater under forberedelse for videre behan-ling.
Konsentrater av lavverdige jernmal-mer er vanligvis fremstilt ved prosesser som omfatter finmaling, fulgt av flotasjon og/eller magnetisk separasjon. Materialer av den resulterende lille størrelse kan imidlertid økonomisk nyttiggjøres i en masovn, følgelig er de fortrinnsvis omdannet til våte kuler eller pellets av passende størrelse og deretter oppvarmet til de er tilstrekkelig tørre og harde for å motstå ytterligere håndtering.
En vanlig måte å fremstilles pellets har
hittil vært å passere det pulverformede materialet gjennom en roterende skrån-ende sylindrisk trommel. Materialet kan være tilstrekkelig vått fra den tidligere behandling, men hvis ikke, påsprøytes det vann og materialet vil gradvis samle seg til kuler i den roterende trommel. Fordi disse pellets ikke er av noen jevn størelse, må uttømmingen fra den sylindriske trommel foregå ved hjelp av et gitter, og så mye som 75 pst., må hendelsesvis sendes tilbake gjennom trommelen, idet de frem-deles ikke har nådd tilstrekkelig størrelse, noe som selvfølgelig er en dyr og lite hen-siktsmessig fremgangsmåte. '
Det er derfor et formål for oppfinnelsen å tilveiebringe et apparat som frem-stiller, utskiller og uttømmer pellets av i det vesentlige jevn størrelse og kvalitet med stor produksjonshastighet.
Pelletteringsapparatet ifølge oppfinnelsen omfatter en avkortet kjegleformet trommel, som er roterbart anordnet om en skrå akse på et understell, og idet trommelen er åpen i den vide enden og lukket i den smale enden, og apparatet karakteri-seres ved at trommelens dybde fra den vide enden til den smale enden er tilnærmet mellom halvparten og 2/3 av diameteren ved den vide enden, og at den nedre siden av trommelen ved den åpne enden for-løper tilnærmet horisontalt.
Ved en foretrukket utførelsesform for apparatet er åpningsvinkelen eller toppvinkelen i trommelen ca. 40—54° ved den åpne enden og tilnærmet 60° ved den lukkede enden.
Apparatet ifølge oppfinnelsen skal be-skrives under henvisning til vedlagte teg-ning, som viser en foretrukket utførelses-form for et pelletteringsapparat ifølge oppfinnelsen, og hvor figuren viser et side-riss av apparatet og som skjematisk illus-trerer forholdet mellom matningsbeltet, slyngeren, de frem- og tilbakegående skra-perinnretningene, pelletteringstrommelen, mottakningsbeltet såvel som drivinnret-ningen og monteringen.
På tegningen betegner 1 et vanlig gulv. som danner underlag for et par parallell H-bjeiker 2 og 3, den ene av hvilke er for-" synt med et par bæreknekter 4 på hvilken en ende av et rektangulært understell 5 er dreibart anordnet ved hjelp av tappene 6, idet den andre enden av nevnte understell 5 er regulerbart fastholdt ved hjelp av boltene 7 bevegelige i slissene 8 i stenderne 9 på den annen H-bjelke 3. På understellet 5 er festet en skrå ramme 10 som ved hjelp av lagrene 11 bærer et forover og oppover rettet tykt rør 12 som er konsentrisk roterbart på en langstrakt fast aksel (ikke vist), hvis lavere ende er fastgjort til rammen 10.
Blandetrommelen 14 fremstilt av sveisede stålplater i form av en rettavkortet kjegle er forsynt med en forsterket ut-tømningskant 15 ved sin større åpne ende og et bunndeksel 16 som er forsynt med en sentrisk åpning 17 for den faste aksel 13. En stor tannkrans 18 er montert konsentrisk bak endedekslet 16 på et hjulkors 19 laget av radielle H-bjelkeelementer festet på røret 12 og roterbart med dette på lagrene 20 anbragt rundt akselen 13. Bunn-dekslene 16 er løsbart boltet til hjulkorset 19.
På rammen 10 er også festet et understell 21 for en drivmotor 22 forbundet ved hjelp av en remskive 23, rammen 24 og remskiven 25 til en tannhjulutveksling 26 med en aksel 27 som driver et tannhjul 28 som står i inngrep med tannkransen 18.
På en særskilt ramme 29 ved siden av, men en tanke høyere enn toppen av pelletteringstrommelen 14 er montert et motor-understell 30 som bærer en skrapermotor 31 utstyrt med en remskive 32 som er forbundet med remmen 33 til remskiven 34 på tannhjulsreduseringen 35.
Den fremre enden av den oppoverskrå-nende spindelen er anordnet med et i leng-deretningen oppspaltet eller slisset stort rør 38. I rett vinkel på røret 38 på innsiden av trommelen 14 er det påsveiset et par parallelle, med innbyrdes avstand anord-nede opprettstående armer 42 og 43 med ulike lengder. På armene 42 og 43 er det festet et antall faste kuttere eller skrapere (ikke vist) med kileformede toppkanter av wolframkarbid eller annen hård legering.
Likeledes dreibart båret i forhold til armene 42 og 43 er det anordnet støtte-armer 48 og 48' for skrapere.
Øvre lagerblokker og nevnte støttear-mer 48 og 48' anvendes for å skaffe en svingbar forbindelse med det hule, boks-liknende organ 53 som er laget av sammen-sveisede vinkeljern, og et liknende for-lengelsesorgan 54.
Frem- og tilbakegående bevegelse med-deles skraperarmene 53 og 54 ved hjelp av en svingbolt 61, en forbindelsesarm 63 og en regulerbar arm (ikke vist), som er sving-bart forbundet til veivarmene 65 på tannhjulsreduseringen 35.
Skrapertennene 60 assisterer de stasjo-nære kutterne i å hindre at fuktig malm akkumuleres på innsiden av trommelen i en slik grad at dens funksjon hindres. Ten-nene 60 løsner og river kontinuerlig opp overflaten på materialet på innersiden av trommelen, noe som letter ved hefting av fuktig malm på de roterende og delvis formede pellets. Skrapermekanismen frem-går for øvrig klarere av norsk patentskrift nr. 106 588.
Kvaliteten av pellettene er avhengig av en rekke faktorer, omfattende karak-teren, fordelingen og hastigheten av matningen, størrelsen, formen og skråningen av trommelen, typen og tykkelsen av den indre overflaten, og av trommelens rota-sjonshastighet. For å plettere fuktige jern-malmkonsentrater på riktig måte bør disse f. eks. inneholde omkring 9,5 til 10,5 vekt-prosent fuktighet. Små mengder av til-setninger, som f. eks. bentonit og soda, vil fremhjelpe pelle teringen og den såkalte «knusestyrken». Partikkelstørrelsen av malmen som mates, bestemmes ved tid-I ligere konsentrasjonstrinn.
Ved pelletering av findelte malm-konsentrater, er det funnet at meget tilfredsstillende pelleter opp til omtrent 3 cm i diameter kan dannes i kjegleformede tromler av den beskrevne type hvis dia-metre kan variere fra 1 opp til 3,5 m, og med dybder eller lengder som varierer mellom halvparten til to tredjedeler av diameteren. For en rettavkortet kjegle som er 3,5 m ved den største diameter og 2 m dyp, kan åpningsvinkelen ved den øvre delen av kjeglen, som dannes av forlengelser av sidelinjen av kjeglen, fra uttømningskan-ten og innover til omtrent 60 pst. av trommelens dybde, være fra omkring 40° til 54°, idet 48° i alminnelighet er den mest hen-siktsmessige vinkel.
Ved omkring de indre 40 pst. av kjeg-lenes dybde hvor den begynnende pellettering finner sted, kan åpningsvinkelen til kjeglen hvis ønsket, gjøres noe større, f. eks. omkring 60°, for å rense ut smuldret malm og for å tilveiebringe bedre kontroll over dannelsen av såkalte «pellet-kim». En kjegleformet indre foring eller indre kjegle av sement som vist med den stiplede linjen b på tegningen er muligens den enkleste måten å tilveiebringe to forskjel-lige hellinger i den store metallkj eglen. Det er selvfølgelig nødvendig å sørge for den riktige klaring for skjære- og skrape-innretningene. Den stiplede linjen a angir den indre foringen eller kjeglen på innsiden av den åpne endedelen av trommelen. Den innkommende malm passerer over en beltetransportør 67 med et understell 78 under hvilken er opphengt en motor 79 med en remskive 80 som ved hjelp av en rem 81 driver remskivene 82 og 83, som videre ved en rem 84 driver remskiven 85 under den første rullen 88 på beltetranspor-tøren. Akselen for remskiven 85 bærer et par stangelementer som er anordnet med spredestenger 90 som under rotasjon vil oppdele og fordele den innkommende og fallende malm. En metall-skvettskjerm 91 forsynt med et gummiforheng 92 vil hindre uønsket søling av malm med følgende bry for maskinens operatører.
Som ovenfor beskrevet, mates det pulveraktige materialet 66 som skal pellet-teres fra beltetransportøren 67 inn i den roterende trommel 14. Der kan materialet, hvis det ikke er tilstrekkelig vått, påsprøy-tes vann gjennom passende dyser (ikke vist), og det dannes pelleter 68 av passende størrelse. Pelletene klassifiseres automatisk ifølge størrelsen ved hjelp av den roterende trommelen. De minste pelleter vil forbli nær senteret eller under de større pelleter inntil de har nådd den ønskede størrelse. Pelleter av den riktige størrelse tømmes ut over uttømningskanten 15 ned på en trans-portør 69 for deretter å gå videre til ovnen eller til en sintringsanordning (ikke vist) hvor pelletene varmes opp for å oppnå hardhet.
Agglomereringen av materialet under trommelens rotasjon foregår slik at en pellet ikke vil tømmes ut av trommelen før den har nådd en ønsket minimumsstørrelse, hvilken størrelse kan reguleres ved å variere den vinkelmessige stillingen av den nedre siden av trommelen i forhold til horisontalplanet. Oppsmuldret malm og pelleter vil, idet de medbringes oppover langs veggen i trommelens rotasjonsretning, ha en tilbøyelighet til å falle tilbake langs innsiden av trommelen inntil materialet har nådd en individuell størrelse eller mas-se som er tilstrekkelig stor til at det be-veger seg henimot trommelens uttømnings-kant. Ved å helle trommelen oppover og således øke vinkelen mellom kjeglens rotasjonsakse og horisontalplanet vil stør-relsen av pelletene som forlater kjeglen, øke, og ved å redusere nevnte vinkel vil pelletenes størrelse bli mindre.
Hellingsvinkelen bestemmer den hastighet hvormed materialet passerer gjennom kjeglen. For å regulere apparatet kan understellet 5 vippes en tanke oppover eller nedover ved hjelp av hydrauliske jekker e. 1. (ikke vist). Det er funnet hen-siktsmessig at bunnen innledningsvis står horisontalt når en regulering skal fore-tas. Størrelsen av jernmalmpelletene kan varieres fra omkring 6 mm til omkring 3 cm eller mer bare ved å endre vinkelen mellom rotasjonsaksen og horisontalplanet.Når denne vinkel økes, øker pelletenes størrel-ser og for å minske pelletstørrelsen redu-seres vinkelen. Med en åpningsvinkel av 48° ved ytre kjeglesone har en funnet at en oppnår maksimum utgangskonsentrat når den undre siden av trommelen heller en tanke nedover, omtrent 2° med horisontalplanet, m. a. o. kjeglens rotasjonsakse danne romtrent 22° med horisontalplanet. I området mellom 4° over og 4° under horisontalplanet oppnås imidlertid gode resul-tater.
Størrelsen av pelletene kan også varieres betraktelig ved å endre det punkt hvor en mater trommelen. Jo nærmere utgangs-kanten matningen foregår, jo større blir pelletene og motsatt, jo nærmere kjeglens toppflate, jo mindre vil pelletene bli. I alminnelighet foretrekkes det å fordele matningen jevnt over den indre halv-delen av kjeglen, noe som meget effektivt oppnås ved hjelp av de roterende sprede-stengene 90. Oppbyggingen eller dannelsen av pulver i kjeglen vil deretter bli meget betraktelig som antydet på figuren, med den krumme prikkede linjen.
Den periferiske hastighet bør innrettes slik at malmen ruller og omkastes i en be-grenset grad, men den må ikke gli. Hvis hastigheten er for lav, vil massen i trommelen gli, og ingen pelleter dannes. For store hastigheter vil på den annen side for-årsake at pelletene knuses. For en viss pro-duktstørrelse vil det foreligge en meget be-grenset og kritisk sone når det gjelder apparatets hastigheter. For jernmalmpel-letter på omkring 23 mm, ved en kjegle med en største diameter på 3,5 m, vil tilfredsstillende tilsvarende periferiske hastigheter ligge tilnærmet mellom 140 m og
180 m pr. min. tilsvarende ca. 13—17 om-dreininger/min. Meget små pelleter av den
art som anvendes ved rist-sintringspro-sesser, kan fremstilles ved så meget som 25—30 omdreininger/min. på samme mas-kin. Mindre kjegler behøver selvfølgelig høyere rotasjonshastigheter for å oppnå liknende periferiske hastigheter.
Overflaten på innsiden av trommelen må ha de rette egenskaper for at pelletene skal dannes på en tilfredsstillende måte. Findelte materialer som f. eks. jernmalm - konsentrater, vil klebe seg i et tilstrekkelig kompakt lag for å tilveiebringe en riktig overflate. Dannelsen av dette lag kan frem-hjelpes ved å anbringe en hel og jevn ut-foring, i form av «nudder» av punktsveis-metall, eller andre anordninger for å tilveiebringe en ru overflate som fremhjelper
klebningen. Når en anvender en sement-foring b vil denne binde seg i tilstrekkelig
grad til en slikt punktsveiset «raspaktig»
innside.
Claims (2)
1. Pelleteringsapparat for fuktig, pulverformet materiale omfattende en avkortet, kjegleformet trommel, som er roterbart anordnet om en skrå aksel på et understell, og idet trommelen er åpen i den vide enden og lukket i den smale enden, karakterisert ved at trommelens
dybde fra den vide enden til den smale enden er tilnærmet mellom halvparten og 2/3 av diameteren ved den vide enden og at den nedre siden av trommelen ved den åpne enden forløper tilnærmet horisontalt.
2. Pelleteringsapparat som angitt i påstand 1, karakterisert ved at åpningsvinkelen eller toppvinkelen i trommelen er 45°—54° ved den åpne enden og tilnærmet 60° ved den lukkede enden.
