Description

Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en elektrisk oppvarmbar sveisemuffe av termoplastisk materiale til sammenføyning av plastrør, omfattende.en i muffen anbrakt varmetrådvikling hvis ender er ført utad for tilkopling til en strømkilde og med fjærende lepper for fiksering av rørene som er innskjøvet i muffen før sveising.
Mellom plastrør og muffer som er anordnet for sammenføy-ning av rørene,foreligger det relativt store, produksjonsbe-tingete toleranseforskjeller. Dersom toleransene^blir holdt for snevre kan det forekomme at det for enkelte rørs vedkommende er besværlig å anbringe dem i muffen, slik at dette må foretas f.eks. ved innslåing, noe som er en ulempe. Ved for vide toleranser er ikke rørene sentrert i muffen og kan lett bli liggende skrått, noe. som fører til dårlige sveiseforbindelser. Også ved sammenbygging av et rørsystem ville det være fordelaktig dersom rørene før sveisingen ville sitte godt i muffene og bli holdt i nøyaktig flukt med hverandre gjennom disse.
Fra US-patentskrift 3.052.926 er det kjent å anvende slike innledningsvis nevnte fjærende lepper, av metall, for å fiksere et legeme i et annet. Leppene er fremstilt av et annet materiale enn materialet i den vegg de er festet til og er skrudd eller naglet til denne.
Sveisemuffen ifølge den foreliggende oppfinnelse er kjenne-tegnet ved at de fjærende lepper er utformet i ett med muffelegemet ved langsgående innsnitt i muffens innervegg.
Derved blir det ikke nødvendig å anvende andre materialer enn det som allerede finnes i muffeveggen, og nagleforbindelser etc., unngås.
Oppfinnelsen vedrører også en fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av sveisemuffen. Denne kjennetegnes ved at det i muffens innervegg stikkes langsgående innsnitt, hvorved materialet som trenges
ut av innsnittene danner de fjærende lepper.
En utførelsesform av sveisemuffen vil bli nærmere forklart i det etterfølgende under henvisning til de medfølgende teg-ninger, hvori: Fig. 1 viser et langsgående snitt gjennom sveisemuffen. Fig. 2 viser et radialsnitt gjennom sveisemuffens vegg i større målestokk. Fig. 1 viser en elektrisk oppvarmbar sveisemuffe i form av et sylindrisk legeme 1 av en termoplast, f.eks. polyetylen. Legemets innervegg 2 er utformet med et skruelinjeformet spor 3 hvori en varmetrådvikling 4 er innlagt. Varmetrådens ender er ført utad gjennom to radiale boringer 5 og forbundet med to kontaktstykker 6 som på sin side er avskjermet ved hjelp av to bokser 7.
Fremstillingen av muffen foregår med relativt snevre toleranser. Derimot oppviser de fleste plastrør som fremstilles ved ekstruksjon relativt store forskjeller i diameter, noe som vanskeliggjør påskyvingen av muffen på endene av rørene dersom pasningen er for trang, eller til en for løs forbindelse, dersom pasningen er for vid. Dermed blir sammenbyggingen av enkelte rør til et rørsystem vanskeliggjort, rørene er ikke sentrert i muffene og sammensveisingen er ujevn. For å hindre dette stikkes det i innerveggen 2 langsgående innsnitt 8 på slik måte at materiale som fortrenges ut av innsnittene rager innad og danner langsgående lepper 9. Dybden av innsnittene 8 velges selvfølgelig slik at motstandstråden 4, som er innlagt i sporene 3, ikke skades. Innsnittene trekkes hensiktsmessig slik at leppene 9 er anordnet med jevn avstand på innerveggen.
Ved hjelp av disse lepper blir rør 11, som er skjøvet inn i muffen fra begge sider til en anslagsring 10, holdt med full-god pasning og nøyaktig sentrert. Rørenes avstand til muffens innervegg er jevn, noe som sikrer en bedre sveiseforbindelse. Forsøk har vist at leppene er tilstrekkelig elastisk til å bevirke at forbindelsen holder godt, selv etter flere gangers overskyvning av muffen.
For fremstilling av den uløselige forbindelse oppvarmes muffen på kjent måte ved hjelp av varmetråden, noe som bevirker krymping av muffen og sveising av innerveggen til rørendene.
Som kontroll for at sveisingen har foregått riktig har det vist seg hensiktsmessig å anbringe en varmeindikator på muffen. Denne i og for seg kjente indikator, f.eks. av papir eller plast, klebes hensiktsmessig godt synlig på muffen ved siden av boksene. Ved hjelp av den blivende farging av indikatoren lar det seg fastslå om den riktige sveisetemperatur er oppnådd.
Idet ved sammenbygging av rørsystemer de enkelte rør-stykker og muffer i de fleste tilfeller først sammenføyes løst for deretter å sveises sammen gruppevis, kan det ved hjelp av indikatoren fastslås hvilke forbindelser som allerede er sveist og hvilke som må sveises. På denne måte kan ufordelaktig dobbelsveising unngås, og det fremgår straks om et sveisested er blitt glemt eller ikke. Fargeindikatoren kan f.eks. være utstyrt med et hvitt punkt som blir mørkere med økende tem-peratur og blir svart ved oppnåelse av en sluttemperatur på ca. 240-250°C.

Claims (2)

1. Elektrisk oppvarmbar sveisemuffe (1) av termoplastisk materiale til sammenføyning av plastrør (11), omfattende en i muffen anbrakt varmetrådvikling (4) hvis ender er ført utad for tilkopling til en strømkilde og med fjærende lepper (9) for fiksering av rørene (11) som er innskjøvet i muffen før sveising, karakterisert ved at de fjærende lepper (9) er utformet i ett med muffelegemet ved langsgående innsnitt (8) i muffens innervegg (2).
2. Fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av sveisemuffen (1) ifølge krav 1, karakterisert ved at det i muffens innervegg (2) stikkes langsgående innsnitt (8), hvorved materialet som trenges ut av innsnittene danner de fjærende lepper (9)-
