Abstract

The pen comprises a holder with a free ink cartridge, a nib fixed in position with a sealed ink reservoir and ink buffer passages between. Between cartridge and reservoir is an injection pipe, and a capillary ink passage connects the buffer passages to the capillary nib. An ink control device is incorporated, connected to the injection pipe and the buffer passages, and typically in the form of a narrow ventilation passage, accommodating sufficient ink to form an ink lock, preventing ventilation air from flowing to the injection pipe.
