Abstract

A tracing assembly is fitted to a recording instrument without the need for special screws. The reservoir and stylus have external protrusions enabling fitting to arms of various width and thickness. The tracing assembly has a long life and is not reuseable. A tracing assembly is fitted to the extremity (11) of an arm (12) on a recording instrument and which fits into slots in protrusions (6, 86, 96) on the body (18). A polyester fibre stylus (38) is located in a sleeve (34) at one end of the reservoir body (18) which contains a compressed fibrous pad (50) impregnated with ink. Ventilation for the pad is obtained via a passage (48) in the stylus sleeve and a second passage (64) in a stopper (54) which seals the reservoir when it has been filled.
