PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of supplying a sufficient amount of ink to a wire even when high-speed recording is made by providing a liquid passage groove leading from the tip of part to an ink reservoir to the wall of the holding hole of a wire holder in a wire dot type printer. CONSTITUTION:In a wire holder 15, an ink reservoir 18 for a liquid ink 19 is provided, a guide 16 with a holding hole 17 is provided to the tip of the ink reservoir 18, and a wire 22 is held slidably by holding holes 17 and 21. On the wall facing the holding hole 17 of the guide 16, one or plural spiral liquid passage groove 20 are formed, and ink 19 in the reservoir 18 can, therefore, be exuded to the tip of the wire 22 by a capillary action and then supplied to the tip portion of the wire.
