Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply stably a proper amount of ink to a printing end surface even in time of high speed operation by a method wherein behind a wire guide near a printing end surface of a wire there is provided on ink passage, from which ink is supplied by means of capillarity. CONSTITUTION:The ink supplied from an ink supply pipe 58 strikes against the wall surface 66 of an ink supply hole 59 and an ink passage 55 and then part of it flows into an ink passage 50 which is constituted so that it may cross ink bypasses 61, 62 and a wire 51, and is exhausted through an ink exhaust 60. At this time, the ink does not flow directly into the ink passage 50 but it is saturated by means of capillary attraction. Therefore, the dynamic pressure of ink by a pump and the like is hard to transmit and a constant quantity of ink is always held stably. Further, the ink in the passage 50 is supplied to the printing end surface of the wire by means of capillary action of the clearance 54 between a wire guide 52 and a guide hole 51 and flows into an ink adjusting-and-collecting groove 69. The groove 69 serves to keep a suitable amount of ink on a printing end surface of a wire.
