Abstract

The IC engine has a cylindrical rotor working in a chamber in a housing so shaped as to leave between them a stationary fuel intake and compression space and a stationary expansion space. A protrusion from the rotor extends to the chamber wall and for the entire chamber width, and acts as a piston as it passes through the spaces mentioned. Fuel intake and exhaust passages are connected to the intake and expansion chambers respectively. There are three or more chambers adjacent to each other in the housing (1) and partly overlapping so that they are connected together. The central one at least (11, 12) is approx. cylindrical, and there are cylindrical rotors (14) in each, the central one being of smaller diameter than the other two, and the latter being in contact with it. The intake and expansion spaces are formed between the inner rotor on the one hand and the outer ones and the internal housing wall on the other, being completely separate from each other.
