Abstract

Seals for glass, plastic, metal, laminated and other containers, based on a joint between the rim or flange of the container and the closure, depending upon the insertion of a solid resilient thermoplastic blank of specified compositions in the closure, which is heated to ensure suitable adherence, and is then moulded to shape in a cold mould under pressure, if necessary, having first heated the closure. Tightly sealed closures for containers. Completely tight sealing is obtained. Closures can be used on both new and used bottles, even if the latter are slightly damaged at the rims.
