Abstract

The two electric channels and corresponding transducers operate at different frequencies, and transmit and/or receive ultrasonic energy. The unit comprises a disk-shaped inner piezoelectric transducer, and an annular outer transducer concentric with the former. An acoustic insulating structure between the two transducers minimises acoustic energy transmission between transducers in a radial direction. An inner and outer acoustic transmission devices coupled with the front surfaces of the transducers transmit the acoustic energy to the test unit front element. One of them has an acoustic modification device for differential modification of acoustic waves belonging to the two channels, for optimum acoustic energy transmission to and from the workpiece.
