Abstract

Ultra-sonci welding apparatus comprises a transducer with amplitude transformer connected to a sonotrode and an anvil between which the article to be welded is placed and subjected to ultra-sonic vibrations. The transducer, transformer and anvil only are installed so that they can move relatively to each other and the sonotrode extends outwards on both sides of the transformer, the projecting arts being acoustically symmetrical with respect to the axis of the transformer, while the end of the sonotrode furthest from the parts to be welded is held under load by a pressure device exerting a ressure aproximately the same as that of the sonotrode on the materials to be welded.
