Abstract

The box is constructed from a flat oblong piece of cardboard or similar material with a central rectangular base member (1) enclosed by four fold lines (2, 7). Around the base are the portions for the side and end walls. Adjacent to the corners of the original flat component are cut-out portions forming tabs and approximately oblong slots. When folded the side walls lean slightly inwards and the end walls are recessed with end stiffening folds. The side walls are also stiffened by tabs (11, 12) which fit against the inside when folded. A small projecting tab (20) is attached to each end wall and mates with slots (18, 19) in adjacent boxes for stacking.
