Abstract

1,135,862. Rotary-scythe mowers . MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. 17 Nov., 1966 [19 Nov., 1965], No. 51486/66. Heading A1F. In a rotary-scythe mower of the type including a number of cutter-carrying drums 6 mounted side-by-side on a supportbar 5 projecting transversely from a tractor 1, the support-bar being pivotable relatively to the tractor about bearings 4 between operative and transport positions, the drums are mounted resiliently so as to be vertically movable on the support-bar. The drums are mounted on a bearer 7 through which passes the drive from a jointed shaft 8 connected to the tractor power take-off via bevel-gears 3. The bearer 7 is suspended from the support-bar by spring- loaded toggle-links 9. As shown, the springs 12 are compression-springs but, in modifications, the links may be connected together by a single tension-spring or the bearer may be suspended directly from the beam 5 by the springs, the toggle-links then merely maintaining the beam and bearer parallel.
