Description
Electromechanical locking device for blocking motor vehicle parts
Field of the Invention
The invention relates to an electromechanical locking device for blocking motor vehicle parts comprising a case, a servo motor with a pin arranged in the case, the pin being adjustable between the retracted and extended position while the pin of the servo motor is mechanically interconnected with the locking bolt of the gear shifting mechanism.
Background of the Invention
Electronic systems, mechanical systems or combinations of these systems are used to protect motor vehicles from theft.
These devices electronically or mechanically block one of the structural groups of the vehicle preventing unauthorized use of the vehicle. Regardless of the rapid development of electronic systems modern mechanical anti-theft devices still prove to belong among devices that are difficult to overcome. A common feature of the most widespread group of mechanical anti-theft devices is that the extension of a locking bolt blocks the movement of a selected part or structural group of the motor vehicle. The most common devices are locks of the gear shifting mechanism that lock the gear-shift lever in one position by turning of the key in a cylinder lock. Naturally, instead of the gear shifting mechanism other structural groups of the vehicle can be blocked, e.g. the control arm of the clutch, control of the injection system, fuel supply to the engine, hood, etc.
The Czech utility models no. 23537, 235378 and 23539 disclose mechanical anti-theft devices where turning of the key in the cylinder lock can simultaneously extend several locking bolts to simultaneously lock several parts or structural groups of the vehicle, e.g. the gear shifting mechanism together with the hood of the engine compartment of the vehicle.
Besides purely mechanical devices there are also electromechanical locking devices where the cylinder lock is replaced e g. with a servo motor. Such a servo motor is described in the Czech utility model no. 15027.
The aim of the invention is to modify known electromechanical devices in such a way to enable simultaneous control of two locking bolts.
Summary of the Invention
The above mentioned aim is achieved through an electromechanical locking device for blocking parts of a motor vehicle comprising a case, a servo motor with a pin arranged inside the case, the pin being adjustable between the retracted and extended position while the pin of the servo motor is mechanically interconnected with the locking bolt of the gear shifting mechanism in accordance with the invention the principle of which is that the servo motor pin is mechanically interconnected with a second locking bolt. A structure based on this invention makes it possible to adapt a known electromechanical locking device at minimum costs in such a way that it can be used to control two locking bolts at the same time.
In a preferred embodiment the pin of the servo motor is mechanically interconnected with the locking bolt of the gear shifting mechanism with a flexible shaft.
In another preferred embodiment the pin of the servo motor is mechanically interconnected with the second locking bolt with a Bowden cable.
In still other preferred embodiments the second locking bolt may, in the extended condition, reach into a locking lug firmly attached to the vehicle hood, or it may block the control arm of the clutch or the control of the injection system or the fuel supply.
Brief description of the drawings
The electromechanical locking device for blocking of motor vehicle parts in accordance with the invention will be described in a more detailed way using an example of a particular embodiment, shown in a cross-section in fig. 1.
Detailed description of preferential embodiments
The electromechanical locking device for blocking motor vehicle parts in accordance with the embodiment example shown in fig. 1 comprises a metallic case 4 in which a servo motor 1 with a pin 2 is installed. After activation of the servo motor 1 the pin 2 can be moved between the retracted and extended position. Such a servo motor is known e.g. from the Czech utility model no. 15027 while in this embodiment the pin 2 consists of a movement screw.
The pin 2 of the servo motor 1 is mechanically interconnected using a connecting element 3 and flexible shaft 5 with the locking bolt 7 of the gear shifting mechanism, which is not shown here. The flexible shaft 5 is mounted in a guideway consisting of a formed metallic pipe 6.
The connecting element 3 mounted on the pin 2 of the servo motor 1 is further fitted with a metallic arm that the steel wire 11 of a Bowden cable 8 is attached to. At the case 4 of the servo motor 1 the Bowden cable 8 is protected from being interrupted with a metallic cover 9 installed in a bush 10.
The wire 11 of the Bowden cable 8 is connected to the second locking bolt 15, which is seated in the sliding way in a guideway 14 mounted in the holder 13 in the area of the front edge of the motor vehicle hood. At the bottom side of the front edge of the motor vehicle hood a locking lug 12 is attached that the second locking bolt 15 can pass through in the extended position when the hood is closed.
When the vehicle is locked, the servo motor 1 is automatically activated, extending the pin 2. The extension of the pin 2 causes extension of the locking bolt 7 of the gear shifting mechanism by means of the flexible shaft 5 and at the same time the wire 11 of the Bowden cable 8 extends the second locking bolt 15. Thus, the gear shifting mechanism not shown here as well as the locking lug 12 of the hood get blocked.
On unlocking of the vehicle both the locking bolts 7, 15 are analogously retracted to the initial position and the corresponding parts of the vehicle are unblocked.
Experts will find it obvious that in the extended position the second locking bolt 15 can block other parts or structural groups of the vehicle instead of the hood, e.g. the control arm of the clutch, control of the injection system, fuel supply, etc.
