Abstract

A PLURALITY OF SHEETS CAN BE EFFICIENTLY AND ACCURATELY PILED UP ON A TABLE BY THE USE OF A SHEET PILING-UP SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM COMPRISES AT LEAST ONE SHEET CONVEYING UNIT (1), SHEET CATCHING UNIT (2), AND A SHEET PILING-UP UNIT (3). THE CONVEYING UNIT (1) INCLUDES A BASE TABLE (20), FIRST MOVABLE TABLE (25), FIRST DRIVE UNIT (30) FOR MOVING THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE VERTICALLY RELATIVE TO THE BASE TABLE BETWEEN A FIRST POSITION IN WHICH A TOP OF THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE IS LOWER THAN A TOP OF THE BASE TABLE AND A SECOND POSITION IN WHICH THE TOP OF THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE IS HIGHER THAN THE TOP OF THE BASE TABLE, AND A SECOND DRIVE UNIT (40) FOR HORIZONTALLY MOVING A SHEET. THE CATCHING UNIT (2) IS FIXED WITH RESPECT TO THE VERTICAL DIRECTION. THE PILING-UP UNIT (3) COMPRISES A SECOND MOVABLE TABLE (70), AND A THIRD DRIVE UNIT (71) FOR VERTICALLY MOVING THE SECOND MOVABLE TABLE. SHEETS PROVIDED ON THE BASE TABLE (20) ARE TRANSFERRED ONTO THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE (25) BY MOVING THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE TO THE SECOND POSITION. THEN, THE SECOND DRIVE UNIT (40) IS OPERATED TO MOVE ONE OF THE SHEETS IN A HORIZONTAL PLANE, WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE FIRST MOVABLE TABLE AT THE SECOND POSITION, TO A POSITION JUST ABOVE THE SECOND MOVABLE TABLE (70). THE SHEET IS HELD IN THE HORIZONTAL PLANE BY THE CATCHING UNIT (2). THE THIRD DRIVE UNIT (71) IS OPERATED TO MOVE THE SECOND MOVABLE TABLE (70) TO A HEIGHT FOR RECEIVING THE SHEET HELD BY THE CATCHING UNIT (2). THE SHEET IS RELEASED FROM THE CATCHING UNIT TO BE PUT ON THE SECOND MOVABLE TABLE (70) AT THE HEIGHT. (FIG. 1)
