Abstract
Un codificador de audio desecha los componentes espectrales de una senal de entrada y utiliza el acoplamiento de canal para reducir los requerimientos de la capacidad de informacion de una senal codificada. El acoplamiento de canal presenta los componentes espectrales seleccionados de multiples canales de senales en una forma compuesta. Un decodificador de audio sintetiza los componentes espectrales para remplazar los componentes espectrales desechados y genera componentes espectrales para senales individuales de canal a partir de la senal de canal acoplado. El codificador proporciona factores de escala en la senal codificada que mejoran la eficiencia del decodificador para generar senales de salida que preservan, de manera sustancial, la energia espectral de l as senales de entrada originales.
