Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la esterilizacion de sustancias medicinales solidas insolubles en agua. El proceso proporciona la esterilizacion de beclometasona, que es adecuada para administracion pulmonar. En particular, el proceso se usa en plantas industriales para la produccion de formulaciones de beclometasona esteril para distribucion por inhalacion, para evitar cualquier modificacion en la distribucion del tamano de particulas y en el perfil de impurezas del farmaco. El proceso se lleva a cabo al calentar una mezcla de beclometasona micronizada y agua purificada unicamente, de manera preferente a una temperatura de aproximadamente 120degree C durante 20 minutos. El proceso es particularmente eficiente y economico para la esterilizacion con vapor de dipropionato de beclometasona en formulaciones para distribucion pulmonar.
