Abstract
Un sistema de inventario incluye una pluralidad de unidades de impulsion moviles con un control de procesador y con un sistema de colocacion que permite a las unidades de impulsion moviles navegar por el piso de una fabrica. Las unidades de impulsion moviles forman interfaces con un sistema de manejo de materiales para recibir solicitudes de ordenes y entregar articulos de inventario hacia estaciones de empaque localizadas en el piso de la fabrica. Los articulos del inventario se encuentran almacenados en charolas apiladas en gondolas de inventario moviles usando un mecanismo apilador. Las gondolas de inventario moviles estan almacenadas en una rejilla de almacenaje virtual cuando no estan siendo transportadas por las unidades de impulsion moviles.
