Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a moleculas de acido nucleico aislado que codifican quitinasas endogenas de algodon y promotores correspondientes, los cuales se expresan preferencialmente en celulas con pared secundaria durante la deposicion de la pared secundaria; el polipeptido codificado por la molecula de acido nucleico, una construccion de ADN que enlaza la molecula de acido nucleico aislado con un promotor, la construccion de ADN incorporada en un sistema de expresion, una celula hospedera, una planta, o una semilla vegetal tambien se describen; la presente invencion tambien se refiere a una construccion de ADN que enlaza los promotores aislados con un segundo ADN asi como sistemas de expresion, celulas hospederas, plantas, o semillas vegetales que contienen la construccion de ADN; tambien se describen los metodos para impartir resistencia a los insectos y hongos, para regular el contenido de celulosa en la fibra, y los metodos para expresar un gen preferencialmente en celulas con pared secundaria durante la deposicion de la pared secundaria.
