Abstract

Un dispositivo electrocromico incluye un primer substrato (12) que tiene al menos una superficie polimerica (28); una capa imprimadora (32) a lo largo de la superficie polimerica; un primer revestimiento transparente electricamente conductor (18) a lo largo del imprimador del primer substrato, donde la capa imprimadora adhiere el primer revestimiento electricamente conductor a la superficie polimerica del primer substrato; un segundo substrato (14) separado del primer substrato para definir una camara entre ellos; un segundo revestimiento transparente electricamente conductor (20) sobre una superficie (300 del segundo substrato, de tal forma que el primer revestimiento mira hacia el segundo revestimiento, donde al menos uno del primer y segundo substartos es transparente, y un medio electrocromico (22) contenido en la camara, cuyo medio electrocromico tiene una reducida transmitancia luminosa al aplicar energia electrica al primer y segundo revestimientos conductores y establece un potencial electrico a traves del medio electrocromico, y donde el medio electrocromico y la capa imprimadora son compatibles. Si se desea, los substratos son materiales plasticos y/o transparentes. En otra realizacion del dispositivo electrocromico, al menos uno del primer y segundo revestimientos electricamente conductores (18, 20) es un revestimiento en dos partes que tiene una primera porcion electricamente conductora depositada sobre un catodo metalico y una segunda porcion electricamente conductora depositada a partir de un catodo ceramico.
