Abstract
Un revestimiento liquido es formado sobre un substrato mediante gotas de rociado electrostatico del liquido sobre una superficie de transferencia conductiva humedecida con liquido (14) y la transferencia de una porcion del liquido aplicado de esta manera de la superficie de transferencia al substrato (16). De manera opcional, uno o mas rodillos de presion (26) fuerzan el substrato contra la superficie de transferencia, con lo cual disminuye el tiempo requerido para que las gotas sean esparcidas y unidas en el revestimiento. De preferencia, el revestimiento se hace pasar a traves de una estacion de mejora que comprende dos o mas dispositivos de absorcion y colocacion (39) que mejoran la uniformidad del revestimiento. El revestimiento puede trasladarse de la superficie de transferencia conductiva a una segunda superficie de transferencia y por lo tanto, al substrato. Los substratos aislantes, tales como las peliculas plasticas, pueden revestirse sin requerir la precarga del substrato o la neutralizacion posterior al revestimiento. Los substratos porosos tales como las telas tejidas y no tejidas pueden revestirse sin la penetracion sustancial del revestimiento en o a traves de los poros del substrato.
