Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona enzimas que degradan el dicamba aisladas y por lo menos purificadas parcialmente, moleculas de ADN aisladas que codifican las enzimas que degradan el dicamba, construcciones de ADN que codifican las enzimas que degradan el dicamba, celulas huesped transgenicas que comprenden el ADN que codifican las enzimas que degradan el dicamba, plantas o partes de plantas transgenicas que comprenden una o mas celulas que comprenden el ADN que codifica las enzimas que degradan el dicamba. La invencion ademas proporciona un peptido de transito para usarlo en una construccion de ADN que comprende dichas enzimas que degradan el dicamba que dirige la oxigenasa que degrada el dicamba a las organelas de las celulas de las plantas. La expresion de las enzimas que degradan el dicamba da como resultado la produccion de organismos que degradan el dicamba, incluyendo plantas tolerantes al dicamba. La invencion proporciona ademas un metodo para controlar la maleza en un campo que contiene plantas transgenicas tolerantes al dicamba de la presente invencion y un metodo para descontaminar un material que contiene dicamba que comprende la aplicacion al material de una cantidad efectiva de un microorganismo transgenico o enzimas que degradan el dicamba de la invencion. Finalmente, la invencion proporciona un metodo para seleccionar plantas o celulas de plantas transformadas basadas en la tolerancia al dicamba y un metodo para seleccionar o clasificar las celulas huesped transformadas, organismos intactos y partes de organismos basados en la fluorescencia del acido 3,6- diclorosalicilico producido como resultado de la degradacion del dicamba.
