Abstract
Un sistema (10) y método para conformado de hojas de vidrio incluye un horno (12) que tiene una cámara de calentamiento (14), en la cual una platina de vacio (20) tiene una superficie que se orienta hacia abajo (22) en la que se suministra un vacio para soportar una hoja de vidrio calentada que es recibida de un transportador (16). Una estacion de conformado (24) externamente localizada del horno tiene un molde superior que puede moverse en direccion vertical (28) y coopera con un anillo inferior que puede moverse en direccion horizontal (34). Un primer actuador (39) mueve la platina de vacio (20) en direccion vertical con el objeto de transferir una hoja de vidrio calentada del transportador (16) al anillo inferior (34) el cual es movido entonces por un segundo actuador (40) hacia la estacion de conformado (24). Un tercer actuador (42) mueve entonces el molde superior (28) hacia abajo con el objeto de cooperar con el anillo inferior (34) en el proceso de conformado de la hoja de vidrio. La estacion de conformado (24) incluye un aparato de reduccion de pérdida de calor (43) con la finalidad de reducir la pérdida de calor de la hoja de vidrio durante el proceso de conformado. Un impulso de vacio se proporciona en el molde superior (28) con el objeto de ayudar en el proceso de conformado. Una estacion de enfriamiento (32) enfria la hoja de vidrio conformada.
