Abstract

La presente invencion es un método para preparar una emulsion de alta relacion de fase interna sin inversion de fase que comprende las etapas de: a) combinar de manera continua en un dispersor y en presencia de una cantidad emulsificante y estabilizante de un agente tensioactivo, una corriente líquida de fase continua que tiene un régimen de flujo R1 y una corriente líquida de fase dispersa que tiene un régimen de flujo R2; y b) mezclar las corrientes combinadas con una cantidad suficiente de esfuerzo cortante y con R2:R1 suficientemente constante para forma la emulsion de alta relacion de fase interna sin inversion de fase o la distribucion por etapas de una fase interna dentro de la fase externa; en donde R2:R1 comprende una escala, el límite inferior de la cual está definido por un punto donde el tamaño de partícula promedio en volumen de la emulsion de alta relacion de fase interna empieza a mostrar una dependencia inversa sobre R2:R1 y en donde el límite superior de cuya escala está solamente menor que una R2:R1 donde tiene lugar una inversion de fase de la emulsion de alta relacion de fase interna. Pueden prepararse partículas menores a una micra monodispersas utilizando el proceso de la presente invencion. Los látexes utiles pueden prepararse a partir de esas emulsiones de alta relacion de fase interna.
