Abstract

Se describen electrodos de difusion de gas electrocatalítico para células energética y un procedimiento para su preparacion. El electrodo comprende una capa de difusion de gas anisotropica y una capa catalítica. La capa de difusion de gas se hace de una matriz de carbono porosa a través de la cual se distribuyen partículas de carbono y fluoruro de poli(vinilideno), de manera que la matriz es homogéneamente porosa en una direccion lateral al flujo de gas y asimétricamente porosa a los gases en la direccion del flujo de gas. La porosidad de la capa de difusion de gas se reduce en la direccion del flujo de gas. La capa catalítica se hace de una suspension de tinta coagulada que contiene partículas de carbono catalítico y un polímero termoplástico seleccionado de polietérsulfona, fluoruro de poli(vinilideno) y polisulfona sulfonada de gas. La capa de difusion de gas tiene un espesor de entre 50 æm y 300 æm. La capa catalítica tiene un espesor de entre 7 æm y 50 æm y una carga de catalizador de entre 0.2 mg/cm² y 0.5 mg/cm².
