Abstract
Se usan células nerviosas del encéfalo multipotentes proliferantes o proliferadas para producir un sistema modelo SNC(Sistema Nervioso Central) para el estudio del desarrollo y la funcion nervioso y para determinar los efectos en el SNC de agentes terapéuticos y otros novedosos agentes biologicos. Las células nerviosas del encéfalo se obtienen en pequeñas cantidades de tejido del SNC, ya sea normal o enfermo, de individuos pre y postnatales. La invencion permite que grandes cantidades de tejido, que puede derivarse clonicamente para limitar la variabilidad, se generan a partir de una cantidad relativamente pequeña de tejido del SNC. La invencion describe un sistema de modelo del SNC mediante el cual la progenie diferenciada de las células nerviosas del encéfalo incluye tipos multiples de células del SNC, incluso neuronas, astrocitos y oligodendrocitos. Usándose este modelo, se puede realizar la seleccion de efectos de los agentes neurologicos u otros agentes biologicos y el análisis de la expresion de los genes en células nerviosas multipotentes del encéfalo y en la progenie derivada de la célula del encéfalo de un donador normal o enfermo.
