Abstract
Se presenta un nuevo tipo de material de cátodo para la construccion de cátodos para baterías secundarias de litio de alto voltaje. El nuevo material de cátodo contiene como ingrediente activo oxido de manganeso de litio en espinela y comprende además un material de cátodo inactivo que contiene alfa-Mn2O3 y/o Li2Mn2O3. Este material de cátodo exhibe un coeficiente de difusion químico de litio elevado que lo que se obtendría para espinela pura Li1+xMn2O4 además se presenta un proceso para la preparacion del material de cátodo, este procedimiento es ventajoso economico y fácil de llevarse a cabo en una escala industrial. Este procedimiento comprende, forma un fundido de acetato de manganeso, hidroxido de litio y agua manteniendo el fundido a una temperatura en el margen de 70 a 110 degree C durante un período de 10 minutos a 4 horas bajo agitacion para formar así un material esencialmente homogéneo, secar el material a lo que sigue calcinacion a una temperatura en el margen de 300 a 800 degree C.
