Abstract
Se describen celdas de combustible que incorporan una membrana novedosa conductora de iones; la membrana (1) comprende una pluralidad de moléculas de polímero estables al ácido, cada una tiene por lo menos un componente conductor de iones unido covalentemente a por lo menos un componente de conexion flexible; la membrana tiene componentes conductores de iones de las moléculas de polímero ordenadas de forma tal que una pluralidad de canales conductores de iones continuos (2) en la membrana desde un primer frente a un segundo frente de forma tal que los canales conductores de iones están situados en una matriz elástica (3) formada por los componentes de conexion flexible; una membrana preferida se obtiene mediante (a) sulfonacion de SEBS con trioxido de azufre bajo condiciones que dan como resultado sulfonacion mayor de 25 moles% y (b) calentamiento del polímero.
