Abstract
Un dispositivo para amortiguacion de la vibracion, que se monta entre dos porciones espaciadas de un vehículo para absorber fuerzas de la carretera que se ejercen en el vehículo. Un alojamiento cilíndrico de metal interior forma una cámara de piston interior y se conecta en un extremo con una porcion del vehículo, con el extremo exterior de la varilla del piston que se monta deslizablemente dentro de la cámara del piston, que se conecta a la otra porcion del vehículo. Un alojamiento exterior circunda la porcion del alojamiento interior y forma un ducto de transferencia de fluido entre las cámaras de fluido que se forman en lados opuestos del piston dentro de la cámara del piston. Se monta un electrodo en una superficie interior del alojamiento exterior y se aísla eléctricamente de ahí y comunica con el ducto de transferencia de fluido, para aplicar un voltaje a través del ducto para afectar la viscosidad de un fluido electroreologico (ER) que circula pasante para incrementar la fuerza de amortiguacion del dispositivo.
