Abstract

La invención se refiere a copolímeros de cicloolefina (COC) que presentan una alta resistencia a la tracción y una baja atenuación óptica, a un proceso para su obtención y a su utilización como fibra óptica. Las fibras ópticas se utilizan para el transporte de luz, p. ej. con fines de iluminación o de transmisión de señales. En general se componen de un núcleo cilíndrico, que actúa de canal conductor de la luz, que está envuelto o forrado con un material encamisado, también transparente, con un índice de refracción más bajo.
