Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un proceso para blanquear pulpa que contienen lignocelulosa, en el que la pulpa se trata con un pH de entre 1 y 7 en presencia de un compuesto de magnesio, en el que la pulpa se lava y después se blanquea con un compuesto que contienen peróxido. El tratamiento inicial retira de la pulpa aquellos iones de metales traza que provoquen efectos negativos en los blanqueados subsecuentes con un compuesto que contiene peróxido. Debido a la presencia de iones de magnesio en forma disuelta durante el tratamiento inicial, los iones de magnesio son retenidos en aquellas posiciones, dentro de la pulpa, en donde estos tienen un efecto particularmente positivo en la efectividad de la etapa del blanqueado.
