Abstract
Se divulgan catalizadores de amina terciaria que tienen grupos reactivos con isocianato capaces de formar enlaces covalentes termicamente estables capaces de soportar temperaturas desde los 120oC y mayores de hasta 250oC. Estos catalizadores se pueden utilizar para producir espuma de poliuretano que tiene las siguientes caracteristicas deseables: a) emisiones quimicas muy bajas en un amplio rango de condiciones ambientales e indices de isocianato (p.ej., indices tan bajos como 65 pero mayores que 60); b) estabilidad hidrolitica suficiente para mantener el catalizador enlazado covalentemente a la espuma sin filtracion de catalizador de amina terciaria cuando la espuma se expone al agua o soluciones acuosas incluso en temperaturas mayores que la ambiental (rango de temperatura de 25oC a 90oC); y c) interfaz de contacto estable entre el polimero de poliuretano y otros polimeros (por ejemplo policarbonato) con migracion minima de catalizador de amina terciaria del polimero de poliuretano a otros polimeros sin producir deterioro perceptible alguno del polimero en el punto de contacto incluso bajo condiciones de calor y humedad.
