Abstract

La presente descripción enseña la generación de plantas tolerantes a la sequía. La presente descripción permite la manipulación de una característica fenotípica denominada como "capacidad de permanecer verde" para facilitar la adaptación a la sequía en plantas a través de métodos recombinantes, mutagénicos y/o de cultivo y selección para manipular genes StgX incluyendo Stg2, Stg3a, Stg3b y Stg4. También aquí se describen sistemas de práctica de manejo de plantas para aumentar la producción agrícola y eficiencia de cosecha en ambientes limitados de agua.
