Abstract

El objeto principal de la presente invención es un procedimiento para producir composiciones de bis-anhidrohexitol-éter y, en particular, composiciones de éter glicidílico de isohexida, una de cuyas originalidades se basa en la destilación azeotrópica llevada a cabo a presión reducida; composiciones de este tipo se utilizan para producir resinas epoxídicas, siendo la función de las mismas formar una red macromolecular tridimensional, las composiciones obtenidas de acuerdo con la invención son ricas en derivados diepoxi de isosorbida en detrimento de derivados monoepoxi, participando sólo los primeros en la formación de la red tridimensional; por lo tanto, la densidad de reticulación aumenta, haciendo con ello posible obtener un material que es más químicamente resistente y mecánicamente más fuerte y que tiene una mayor temperatura de transición vítrea (Tg) en comparación con los mismos materiales obtenidos con composiciones de bis-anhidrohexitol-éter de acuerdo con la técnica anterior.
