Abstract

Pesario de cerclaje que contiene progesterona distribuida homogéneamente en el cuerpo del pesario proporcionando una liberación prolongada, sostenida y continua, por un periodo de al menos 6 meses, donde el pesario está formado por elastómeros de dimetilsiloxano con mecanismo RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization), la cantidad de progesterona está comprendida entre 20% a 30% p/p, respecto al peso del pesario y las proporciones de los polímeros que forman la matriz, se encuentra entre 6:1 a 14:1. El pesario de cerclaje es útil para la prevención de parto prematuro. La progesterona difunde a través del polímero en forma continua, sin alterar la forma e integridad del pesario, dado que el elastómero que forma la matriz polimérica utilizado en la presente invención, no es biodegradable. Esto garantiza que la forma del pesario se conserve intacta hasta el término de tratamiento.
