Abstract

Se divulga un método de funcionamiento de un motor de mezcla pobre multicilíndrico 10 en el cual cuando se requiere el calentamiento de la trampa de NOx pobre, algunos cilindros del motor 10 funcionan con una mezcla estequiométrica ligeramente rica para aumentar los reductores y la temperatura del gas de escape que fluye hacia una trampa de NOx pobre 16 y los cilindros restantes del motor 10 funcionan con una mezcla estequiométrica ligeramente pobre para compensar los cilindros que funcionan con una mezcla rica. El método se utiliza para calentar la trampa de NOx pobre 16 para el propósito de regenerarla para retirar NOx o SOx.
