Abstract

Se describe un método para enfriar coque procedente de la destilación de carbón y que tiene una temperatura mayor o igual a 900°C, que comprende las etapas de: a) disminuir la temperatura tal coque, a aproximadamente 700-300°C, mediante intercambio de calor con un fluido, a través de las paredes de un material térmicamente conductor, interpuesto entre el coque y el fluido, b) alimentar un flujo continuo de tal coque a aproximadamente 700-300°C a un turbo-enfriador (T), que comprende un cuerpo tubular cilíndrico (18), cerrado en extremos opuestos mediante respectivas placas del extremo (19,20), provisto con un encamisado de enfriamiento opcional (21) para la pared interna del mismo, por lo menos una abertura de entrada (9) para el coque, por lo menos una abertura de entrada (10, 15, 16 ) para agua, por lo menos una abertura de descarga (11, 12) y un rotor, soportado giratoriamente en el cuerpo tubular cilíndrico (5) y que comprende un árbol (13) provisto con elementos (14) que se proyectan radialmente desde tal árbol, aptos para la manipulación y el avance del coque; c) alimentar un flujo continuo de agua a una temperatura menor o igual a 100°C al turbo-enfriador (T), a través de tal por lo menos una abertura de entrada (10, 15, 16) y someter el flujo de coque y agua a la acción del rotor, que hace avanzar el coque hacia tal por lo menos una abertura de descarga (11); d) descargar continuamente de la por lo menos una abertura de descarga (11, 12) un flujo de coque a una temperatura menor o igual a 200°C y un flujo de vapor de agua.
