Abstract
Composiciones de vidrio y fibras de vidrio de alto módulo y alta resistencia hechas de las mismas, que son capaces de procesamiento continuo, económico y adecuadas para la producción de compuestos de bajo peso, alta resistencia y/o alta rigidez, tales como álabes de turbina eólica, la composición de vidrio comprende los siguientes constituyentes en los límites definidos enseguida, expresados como porcentajes en peso: entre aproximadamente 56 a aproximadamente 61 por ciento en peso de SiO2 entre aproximadamente 16 a aproximadamente 23 por ciento en peso de Al2O3, en donde la relación de por ciento en peso de SiO2/Al2O3 está entre aproximadamente 2 a aproximadamente 4; entre aproximadamente 8 a aproximadamente 12 por ciento en peso de MgO; entre aproximadamente 6 a aproximadamente 10 por ciento en peso de CaO, en donde la relación de por ciento en peso de MgO/CaO está entre aproximadamente 0.7 a aproximadamente 1.5; entre aproximadamente 0 a aproximadamente 2 por ciento en peso de Na2O; menor que aproximadamente 1 por ciento en peso de Li2O; y óxidos de metal de transición residuales totales de menor que aproximadamente 2 por ciento en peso.
